COMMON SALTMARSH-GRASS Puccinellia maritima Height to 30cm. Hairless, tufted perennial. Grows in saltmarshes and forms swards. FLOWERS are borne in spike-like heads, with spikelets along all the branches, which are mainly upright, not spreading (Jul-Aug). FRUITS are small, dry nutlets. LEAVES are grey-green and often inrolled. STATUS-Widespread and locally common.
