SUMMER SNOWFLAKE Leucojum aestivum (Liliaceae) Height to 60cm. Perennial of damp, deciduous woodland. FLOWERS are 15-20mm long, bell-shaped and mainly white, but with green marks on the 6, pointed segments; nodding, in umbels of 2-5 flowers with a greenish spathe (Apr-Jun). FRUITS are capsules. LEAVES are bright green and strap-like. STATUS-Very local native in S England; naturalised elsewhere.
