Height to 15cm. Slender perennial with neatly lobed, fresh green leaves. The flowers, which are white and 12-18mm across, are frequently absent and replaced by red bulbils (June-July). It is a rare plant in the Scottish Highlands, Ben Lawers being a classic location.
